Seem's like a strange name for such a mysterious function. Dec 30, 3, Denver, Colorado.

A Check Switch Test is a diagnostic tool used to identify the satellite orbital slots the dish is pointed to and verify which devices are used in the install. Any DiSEqC devices connected will identify themselves so that the receiver knows what equipment is installed. Mount the mast to a solid surface so that the dish antenna cannot move or be bumped out of alignment.

Never mount to a tree or a public utility pole. Align the top part of the mast so that it is absolutely vertical. If the top part of the mast is off vertical by only a few degrees, it will be difficult or maybe even impossible for you to find the satellites.

Take at least two readings with a level, on the upper mast, that are 90 degrees apart from one another. Loosen both skew bolts and set the skew by rotating the dish mounting bracket to align the mark with the required angle on the skew scale which you wrote above.

Tighten the skew bolts securely. See Table 1 for the required torque values. After the skew is set, do not try to finetune the skew angle when aiming the dish. Grounding, other devices, and in-home cabling must also meet these requirements. RG-6 coaxial cable rated for at least to MHz must be used in this installation. Do not use existing cables such as RG as it may cause signal loss.

Also, be sure that any outdoor connections are made using waterproof F-connectors rated for MHz or greater. The cable length between the DISH Damage caused by over-tightening is not covered by the limited warranty.

Tighten all indoor coaxial cable connections to the receiver only by hand. If you use a wrench, you may over-tighten the connections and damage your equipment.

Depending on where you are the sat is very low on the horizon. We're in Florida and almost anything blocks it. I have a k that I use in the house when I'm not using it in the motor home, and have run into some problems when switching back and forth.

You might want to try the following to see if it might help. Turn your satellite controller off Disconnect the satellite coax cable that connects to the k Run the Check Switch routine. It will eventually show all "X"'s, no satellites found Select Save, and then Save again Reconnect the satellite coax Turn your satellie controller on, and let it locate the satellites.

Run the Check Switch routine hopefully it will now show all three birds If so, select Save twice. Thanks guys. Spent the whole entire day so far polishing the sticks n brks for the open house tomorrow.

Gonna watch the bud shootout tonight, after eating a great salad and some home made baked onion soup. Maybe tomorrow I'll get out there for a while. Got back on it yesterday afternoon. After trying till I was blue in the face, and doing a tech support chat with dish, and a phone tech support with wineguard don't ask me how they got involved It was trying, but for reasons unknown to me, could not get enough signal to lock onto. THe KVH stuff indicated satelite I ran another check switch, and it found all three birds!

Previously used the receiver as a second to my home installation. Last year we moved the "fixed site" to our bay property in NW FL and set up in a 5th wheel with fixed antenna.

Last spring I moved the Wally receiver to the motorhome for a trip, did the appropriate reconfiguration and check switch and had working reception. We were out west and had some limited issues due to what I think is satellite orientation.

This trip we are in the North Carolina mountains in an open area with full sky view and I can't get the system to complete or change the check switch for reception. Doing the installation attempt I get no switch shown and no reception. I have tried by first turning on the antenna and letting it go through a search then turning on receiver. Turning receiver on first then turning on antenna power, resetting the Wally and nothing. Pushed the reset button on the front, unplugged several times during different attempts.

That makes watching a ball game, or any other show for that matter, a problem since I can't tell the score, game stats, etc. Any suggestions??? Join iRV2. Is your antenna configured for DISH eastern arc satellites? If not it needs to be if in North Carolina. Originally Posted by lllkrob. Attached Thumbnails. Originally Posted by computerguy. I needed to do it when switching between the 2 arcs and another antenna.
